Color changing chemical chameleon reaction - KMnO4 changes color by 1 science experiment videos

This is the best and beautiful demonstration of the classic chemistry experiment, the "Chemical Chameleon" that I have come across by 1 science experiment videos by Dhanushree. This is an example of a redox reaction. With the addition of the KMnO4 (potassium permanganate) solution into a solution of sodium hydroxide and sugar, the KMnO4- ion is reduced (sugar as an oxidizing agent) to the MnO4^2- ion (manganate) which results in a color transformation from purple to green. The MnO4^2- ion is then reduced to Manganese Dioxide which results in the final Yellow or brown color. This video shows the famous 'Chameleon chemical reaction', where the various oxidation states of Manganese - in Potassium Manganate(VII) - culminate in sequence to produce several vivid colors: Purple Blue Green Yellow This demonstrates some of the many oxidation states of Manganese, starting with [VII] for purple, and gradually progressing down to [IV] (Yellow) Key words: Chemical chameleon, reaction, chemistry lab, sodium hydroxide, science kids, science kidooz,Beautiful,Chemical,Chameleon,KMnO4,NaOH,Sugar,H2O,Color,Changing,Colors,Beauty,potassium,permanganate,manganate,(VII),ions,exchanging,colorful,amazing,chemistry,chem,experiments,chemexperimentalist,education,science,1 science experiment videos,Dhanushree, scientific videos, school science, interesting science videos, amazing videos, fun science,CBSE,class 10,chemistry experiment, how to
